2023 A Semester course
Applicants:
International students and researchers, who are assigned to the departments of Systems Innovation and Nuclear Engineering and Management and their spouses.
*Application from other departments is acceptable when empty seats are available.



Classroom:
Engineering bldg.8 room 508 on 5F

Cost:
Students need only to prepare the textbook by themselves.
* The classes will be held in person, but students can attend onlone.

Course:
Beginners Course

This is an intensive course from introductory level.
At the end of March students will acquire basic Japanese ability necessary for daily life (JLPT N4 level). Students will be able to speak, listen, read and write about familiar daily topics.

For those who have time but cannot attend due to conflict of schedule, please consult.

1)  Beginners Course I-1 (Introductory level)
This course is for those who will study Japanese for the first time. It aims to develop the basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing necessary, at a minimum, for daily life.
   Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30-12:10
   From October 4 to November 27, 2023

2)  Beginners Course I-2 (Beginners level)
This course is for those who have completed Beginners Course I-1 or those who have studied Japanese at the introductory level and have mastered Hiragana and Katakana. It aims to develop the basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing necessary for daily life.
   Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30-12:10
   From November 29, 2023 to January 25, 2024

3)  Beginners Course II (Upper beginners level)
This course is for those who have completed Beginners Course I-2, about 130 hours of studying, or those who are equivalent to JLPT N5. It aims to develop comprehensive Japanese language skills necessary to live smoothly in Japan.
   Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30-12:10
   From January 29 to March 22, 2024

This course is for those who have studied 350 -400 hours or those who have acquired the JLPT N3 level of Japanese.
Students will learn vocabulary and grammar of intermediate level and topics on Japan comprehensively.
The aim is for students to understand social and cultural topics and to be able to express themselves, through "speaking" "listening" "reading", and "writing" activities.

This is an intensive course for those who have studied 200-250 hours and have acquired elementary level of Japanese.

The aim is to develop overall communication skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) by learning vocabulary and grammar of intermediate level.

Intermediate Course III Integral for Systems Innovation


This is for those who have studied 600 hours or those who have aquired the JLPT N2 level of Japanese.
Students will learn vocabulary and grammar of upper-intermediate and topics on Japanese comprehensively.

The aim is for students to develop Japanese language proficiency needed for dealing appropriately in various situations and to be able to understand the social and cultural contents and express their own ideas.
